Dr. Manoj Goyal, director of pulmonology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, said that there has been a sharp rise in respiratory diseases like bronchitis, chest infections, pneumonia, asthma and COPD and hospitalizations have also increased. Dr Goyal said that people are coming to hospitals with complaints related to cough, shortness of breath, chest pain and blood in sputum.
