Breathing Scrolling
Breathing Scrolling is a new, healthy way to scroll websites or pdf documents without using your mouse or keyboard. Just blow into the headset to scroll any website or PDF document. Breathing scrolling is available as a Chrome extension or as a bookmarklet that can be easily dragged and dropped into your bookmarks bar in your favorite web browser.
Chrome Extension
The Chrome extension is available here. Click the ADD TO CHROME button in the upper right corner to download and install the Chrome extension, and the Breathing+ headset icon should appear in your browser toolbar.
Usage:
- Plug in your device's headset (microphone).
- Whenever you open or refresh your selected website, you will need to allow access to your microphone in the notification window that appears automatically.
- Now you can blow into the microphone and scroll to your desired website.
- When blow is detected, the extensions icon will change and show a downward-facing arrow.
- On https websites (such as Facebook, Gmail, and many others), you need to allow microphone access only once. If the microphone has been disabled before, you will need to click on the little shield in the URL address bar of your browser to set it to allow access.
Notes:
If you click on this extension's icon, several options will appear:
- Disable or enable your extension with the on/off button (this will also disable or enable the microphone notification window to pop out for this extension only).
- Select your desired website scrolling speed with a slider.
- If, for any reason, the microphone notification window does not appear when you open or refresh the website, just simply refresh the website and try again.
- Sometimes the website will not scroll even though a blow was detected. Just simply click on the speed slider in the icon pop-up window and try again.
Bookmarklet
Breathing Scrolling is a bookmarklet that allows you to scroll websites with your breath on most web browsers available today.
First, you need to add the bookmark URL to your bookmark bar (just drag and drop the link below).
Then connect your B+ headset, navigate to any website, and click on the bookmark Blow Scroll. Click "Allow access to your microphone," and you are off to go. Blow to scroll.
Usage:
- Plug in your device's headset (microphone).
- Navigate to any website and click on the bookmark Blow Scroll.
- Allow access to your microphone in the notification window that appears automatically.
- A Blow Scroll pop-up navigation window will appear on the top of your web page.
- Now you can blow into the microphone and scroll to your desired website.
Notes:
- Hide or show Blow Scroll up the pop-up navigation window with the hide and show button.
- With the speed slider, select your desired website scrolling speed.
- Sometimes the website will not scroll even though a blow was detected. Just simply click on the speed slider in the icon pop-up window and try again.

"Keep using the pursed-lip breathing until the breathless feeling goes away. Rest In between breaths if you feel Dizzy. Give sips of room temperature water."
American Lung Association
“Pursed-lip breathing attempts to prolong active expiration through half-opened lips, thus helping to prevent airway collapse. Compared with spontaneous breathing, pursed-lip breathing reduces respiratory rate, dyspnea, and PaCO2, while improving tidal volume and oxygen saturation in resting conditions."
American Thoracic Society
"Pursed lip breathing is one of the simplest ways to control shortness of breath. It provides a quick and easy way to slow your pace of breathing, making each breath more effective."
Cleveland Clinic
“Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through pursed lips makes breathing easier. Pursed-lip breathing can also help you regain control if you’re having trouble catching your breath. You can practice breathing this way anytime, anywhere. If you’re watching TV, practice during the commercials. Try to practice several times a day. Over time, pursed-lip breathing will feel natural.”
University of Minnesota Medical Center
“Pursed lip breathing helps you use less energy to breathe. It can help you relax. When you are short of breath, it helps you slow the pace of your breathing and can help you feel less short of breath."
University of Iowa Children's Hospital
