The United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) indicates that, Deep breathing not only relieves stress, but can also be used to overcome anxiety and panic.two other very common diseases.
And, “when breathing slowly through the nose and breathing deeply through the mouth, we are signaling to the brain and body that we are safe, that it is okay to calm down. In a few seconds we started to feel more relaxed“, they say from Headspace, a digital platform that provides guided meditation sessions and mindfulness training.
How to eliminate stress in 5 minutes?
There are many breathing exercises. However, the first step in any of these works is cozyon a chair, on a bed or on a mat.
Experts say you should make sure of that too straight back and neck to make it as easy as possible to breathe.
Now, for beginnersHeadspace suggests the simplest breathing technique, which is to count our breaths.
“Start by counting 1 slow breath through the nose, 2 long breaths through the mouth3 for inhalation, 4 for exhalation, 5 for inhalation and release,” they show on their website.
When the stress is severe, Headspace recommends box breathing. “This is a very deep breathing exercise that has been shown to calm and regulate the autonomic nervous system. Slowing down your breathing allows CO2 to build up in the blood, which stimulates the vagus nerve to respond to feelings of calmness of the whole body”, they specified.
This exercise is done in the following way:Inhale for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 4, exhale for a count of 4, wait for the end to exhale for a count of 4.and repeat.”
You will get the most benefit from these exercises if you do them regularly, as part of your routine.
