An asthma attack refers to sudden worsening of asthma symptoms caused by tightening of muscles in the airways. During the attack, lining of the airways become inflamed, swollen and might produce more mucus than normal.

- Rapid breathing
- Non-stop cough
- Chest tightness
- Chest pressure
- Severe wheezing
- Pale, sweaty face
- Difficulty in talking
- Anxiety
- Panic
