Raipur: A two-day workshop on cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation and basic life support, conducted by the Government Physiotherapy College in Raipur, concluded on Friday.
The workshop featured Dr.Sumanta Ghosh from Delhi, specializing in physiotherapy techniques for ICU patients. Emphasizing essential practices like manual hyperinflation, suction, and chest percussion to clear lung congestion, facilitating improved breathing and oxygen flow. He highlighted diaphragmatic breathing and neuro-muscular electrical stimulation to enhance respiratory and muscular functions, said an official health release.
Dr Pratibha Shah, head of the anesthesia department at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, underscored the significance of timely basic life support, emphasizing its life-saving potential during a heart attack. tnn
