Huawei Watch GT Runner

Earlier this year, Huawei Consumer Business Group announced the launch of its first sports watch, the Huawei Watch GT Runner. The smartwatch is not only the wearer’s smart assistant but is also designed to serve as a  personal training coach.

The watch intelligently determines the user’s physical ability level based on the their exercise habits, and tailors the scientific training plan. It is compatible with Huawei devices as well as other Android and iOS devices.

Design and performance
The Huawei Watch GT Runner is light and durable, with a stylish appearance. Furthermore, when jogging, the hollowed-out watch lug improves the surface area in touch with the air, making it sweat resistant and breathable, resulting in a more pleasant experience on the wrist.

The watch is made of light materials, such as a high-strength polymer fibre body that is both light and easy to wear. The complete watch body weighs only 38.5g, which means runners will scarcely notice it when running. Furthermore, the antibacterial silicone watch strap that comes with the wristwatch is water resistant, so runners won’t have to worry about sweat or dirt getting on the belt when exercising. It also has an innovative data watch face that displays data like as training load, recuperation time, and weather, which users may tailor to their preferences.

The Huawei Watch GT Runner is equipped with five different satellite systems: GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. It also has a dual-band five-system GNSS positioning chip with a suspended concealed antenna that conceals the positioning antenna within the polymer fibre lugs.

Built for sports
The Huawei GT Runner is a sports-oriented professional runner watch. It comes with the company’s TruSeen 5.0+ heart rate monitoring technology, which has a newly updated heart rate module, 8 PDs in a circular arrangement, better dynamic heart rate monitoring, greater signal input, and improved heart rate monitoring accuracy.

The anti-interference and noise reduction design of the TruSeen 5.0+ is touted to better cope with motion noise created by irregular movement and increase heart rate measurement accuracy while working out, such as during HIIT, yoga, aerobics, skipping rope, and other activities.

Furthermore, the watch features TruSport, a scientific system developed by Huawei. With the algorithms, TruSport can accurately collect various physical indicators generated by the human body during running, scientifically analyse the collected data, and present the most helpful training tips. Based on TruSport, Huawei also developed the running ability index (RAI) to measure the running performance and calculate the relationship between heart rate and pace to get a personal score.

All-day health management
The device provides continuous, real-time, and precise SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation), sleep, and stress monitoring feature for comprehensive health management.

Furthermore, the device sports the Huawei TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring technology, which can perform sleep stage monitoring, real-time heart rate monitoring, and sleep breathing monitoring and assess sleep quality. The watch also monitors stress levels 24×7, and it will even notify if the user’s stress levels are high and help with breathing guidance to help relieve some of the stress.

Meanwhile, through personalised settings, users can receive regular reminders like health challenges, daily water intake, daily mindfulness, early sleep reminder, exercise volume, and staying positive are all small things related to your health.

Other convenient features
The Huawei Watch GT Runner supports bluetooth calls, which enables users to make and receive calls via bluetooth connection right form their wrist. The device comes with a large storage space which can store up to 500 songs. In addition, user can receive, read and reply to SMS messages from the wrist.

Battery life
The Huawei Watch GT Runner delivers a 14-day battery life in smart mode under typical usage scenarios and offers eight day of battery life in heavy usage scenario.

Pricing and availability in the UAE
