Through the Battle 4 Breath Challenge, member-owned financial institution, Oswego County Federal Credit Union, raised $1,280 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The credit union participated in the fundraising initiative with several other Central NY companies to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Foundation seeks to find a cure for cystic fibrosis, a progressive genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits breathing over time, and to fund research and drug development to provide all people with cystic fibrosis the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives. “The CF Foundation is deeply grateful for the support of Oswego County Federal Credit Union,” said Amy Spranger, area director, Upstate New York, at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. “Their generosity will build on our work, alongside the CF community, that has helped add decades of life for people with CF. We are focused on supporting people with CF no matter where they are on their journey and pursuing a cure for all people with the disease.”
Oswego County Federal Credit Union CEO Bill Carhart shared, “We were honored to be a part of this fundraising initiative to help extend the lives of those afflicted with this terrible disease. The ability to breathe should not be taken for granted.”
Oswego County FCU exceeded its goal of raising $500 by sharing the fundraiser with its staff and members and placing donation jars within its branches.
Carhart added, “Thank you to our members, team, and community for making this initiative a great success. I would also like to thank the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for the critical work it does and the impact it has had on families within our community.”
