The baby was then transferred to Amrita Hospital where a CT scan and bronchoscopy were conducted. “We found two iron bodies at the basal segment of the lower lobe of the right lung. There was blood around the foreign body. But the bulb was not seen there. We removed blood around the foreign body and pulled it out. It was only then we realised the foreign body was a red LED bulb. Usually, these kinds of foreign bodies are not found in this age group of babies,” said Dr Tinku Joseph, chief interventional pulmonologist, who headed the team at the hospital. The baby has been discharged from the hospital. TNN
