Happy Monday! Yep! We’re going to be happy about this Monday because whether or not you like Mondays, every time they arrive, it’s a blessing. Think about it, you woke up breathing. You can smile. Plus, there’s lots of opportunity in today, as well as the rest of the week.
Okay, so you’re a person that just doesn’t like Mondays. I get it. But there’s so much to be grateful for. See, it’s extremely important to start your week off the right way, with they right energy and the correct mindset.
Today is not the day you’re going to be a Debbie Downer. It’s the day you’re going to rise. Let’s make today count and remove any hatred for the day. Let’s work on reducing the stress, today. Great part is, you can do this right from home, if you please.
Here’s a few ways to do it:
- Try an Exercise Quickie
You’re probably thinking, what’s that? Well, it’s just as fun as it sounds. This is a very quick workout, whether it’s jumping rope for two mins, jogging in place for 30 seconds, or doing 20 push-ups. It’s something quick, yet something meaningful. This gets your heart rate going. It will also activate several neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine that enhance your mood and help cushion some of that anxiety and stress, according to Dr. Guillem Gonzalez-Lomas, an orthopedic surgeon at NYU Langone Sports Health.
2. Dance for Yourself
Listen, close the door, find a mirror and dance. Nobody needs to be around, just you and you. Look at yourself in the mirror and dancing. Have fun, be sexy. Dance fast or dance slow. Whether your mood is go for it. Dancing engages the mind and also has the power to bring back some good memories, thus reducing current stress. Have fun with this.
3. Read. Read. Read.
What goes up must come down. What goes in must come out! What you feed your mind is everything! So when you feel overwhelmed or stressed out something positive in that mind of yours. Granted you could watch YouTube or listen to something inspirational, there’s nothing like getting lost in a story. Try taking the time to read something good. It will take your attention off of what’s bothering you and help you release.
These are just a few techniques to try today. Yet, they go a long way! So try it out for yourself and have a phenomenal day. You can do it. And remember, the glass is always half full.
