WELLINGTON, P.E.I. — A basic one-day first aid course is heading to Wellington to offer CPR skills for the workplace on Feb. 20.
The C&M First Aid Training, which works in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and the Heart & Stroke Foundation, is heading to the Place du Village mini-mall at 8 a.m.
The company is owned and operated by Claude and Myrna Gavin and will feature the latest first aid and CPR guidelines that meet Occupational Health & Safety regulations for basic first aid.
The training also includes injury prevention content, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) and basic assessment, airway emergencies, breathing and circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest and wound care training.
Those who finish the training will become certified for a three-year period and receive a certification card and an optional wall certificate.
At the end of the course, attendees will get the option to do a written exam in French or English.
The course will hold 18 trainees and registration is first-come, first-served.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 16, and costs $95.
