Patients with sleep disorders will no longer need to spend nights hooked up to monitors in a clinic to get a diagnosis, after scientists developed a pill-sized sensor that can be swallowed to track vital signs from within the stomach or gut.
Sleep apnoea is a condition where breathing stops and starts during sleep, often causing gasping, snorting, snoring or choking noises that disrupt rest for the sufferer and anyone they share a bedroom with.
