Frankie Kiaries aka Frankie JustGymIt has raised some eyebrows with a recent statement he made during an episode on the NTV show The Trend.

The father of 4 stated that personal trainers are aware of their female trainees’ ovulation dates, raising issues about personal space and boundaries.

He said, “A fitness instructor is just someone employed in a gym to take care of the day-to-day activities like cleaning up and all.

If a client comes in, they can show them a few things but they can’t guide them through a certain routine,” he said.

Before adding, “A personal trainer is invested in who you are, has to know your everyday routine, how work is like, what stresses you, even your ovulation he has to like know all that. It is very crucial.”

The muscular celeb went on to explain that some husbands had shared their displeasure with him training their wives after discovering his level of involvement.

"I have had dudes call me and tell me never to train their wives ever again. Not me being unprofessional but I guess is because they didn’t know about me, then they see social media and they are like, this is the guy who is training you? Not ever again.”

How can ovulation affect exercise?

According to www.healthline.com, during ovulation, a slight increase in temperature occurs, affecting the body's sensitivity to exercise in hot or humid conditions during the luteal phase.

Progesterone, predominant in this phase, raises core temperature, resting heart rate, and breathing rate, potentially making workouts feel more challenging.

Progesterone also has a catabolic effect, breaking down tissue and affecting muscle repair.

This is particularly relevant for strength training during the second half of the menstrual cycle, as it may impede protein regrowth, hindering muscle repair.

Recognising one's menstrual cycle phases empowers one to work with their body's natural rhythm, optimising exercise efficiency and avoiding frustration.
