Do you want to learn techniques that may save a person's life? The Town of Essex can help.
Mayor Sherry Bondy has invited 16 residents of the town to participate in a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training course. The free course is for residents who want to be prepared in an emergency. CPR is a skill that anyone can learn in the event of cardiac arrest or when a victim stops breathing.
"CPR is a valuable life-saving skill that everyone can benefit from," said Bondy. "We want to give individuals the opportunity to learn CPR so that they are prepared in case of an emergency to help save a life."
The course will be offered on Saturday, July 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Maedel Community Centre.
There is a limit of 16 people in the class and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional registrants will be put on a waitlist for future courses.
If you have questions about the course, please contact the Town's Recreation and Culture Department at 519-776-8992.
