Phil Foden will miss England's upcoming games against Hungary and Germany after testing positive for COVID-19.
Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi will also be absent for the clash with Hungary, although manager Gareth Southgate was more optimistic they would feature in Germany. England have trips to Hungary tomorrow and Germany next Tuesday in the Nations League.
Manchester City star Foden has been sent home but Southgate believes he will return for the upcoming match with Italy and return game against Hungary at Molineux.
Southgate said: “Phil Foden has tested positive for Covid so he has had to leave.
“Hopefully he will be able to meet up when we come back from Germany. It depends on his symptoms and how his breathing is. It affects everyone differently.”
On Tomori and Guehi, he said: "There's a chance for involvement against Germany, but then they should be fine for the games thereon."
He also suggested Raheem Sterling had missed some training and would be a doubt for England's first Nations League match on Saturday.
