H3N2 Influenza Vs COVID-19: Symptoms
In terms of symptoms, at present, what we know is both COVID-19 and H3N2 virus infection attacks the respiratory system of the body. While COVID can wreak havoc in both the upper and lower respiratory tract, the H3N2 patients have only presented with upper airway symptoms such as persistent cough, headache, fever, and sinus-related symptoms. Aso, in terms of body temperature, after the initial period, the fever settles, and the cough persists for at least 2 to 3 weeks in case of H3N2 infection, however, in COVID patients, experts have noticed the symptoms like fever and cough can persist for weeks. This makes patients very miserable in terms of continuous coughing and throat discomfort.
