Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Specifically, we have more details about the game’s sales in Japan during the past month of May. This is what was shared about it:
Nintendo performed well both in terms of hardware and software. In the list of the top 10 best-selling games of the month, all were from Nintendo, except for Hogwarts Legacy. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ranked first with 1.5 million units sold in Japan alone, despite not having a full month of sales on record. Sales of Tears of the Kingdom surpassed sales of Breath of the Wild’s Japan release, which sold 346,000 copies in its third weekend in March 2017. Hardware-wise, Switch was the No. 1 device, with Switch OLED representing 52.8% of new hardware sales in May, up from 47% in April. Much of those Switch OLED sales were from the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom edition. In total, Switch sold 345,000 units, compared to 145,000 for PS5 in the same month.
