Medway Hospitals, a hospital chain in Tamil Nadu and Seemandhra has successfully raised USD 5 million in its first round of institutional equity funding, the hospital informed in its recent press statement. The funding round was spearheaded by Kyra Ventures, with additional participation from family offices.

Medway Hospitals presently operates eight hospitals, offers comprehensive tertiary care services encompassing Critical Care, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Organ Transplantation, Pulmonology, Urology, and more.  Currently, Medway Hospitals collectively hosts approximately 500 beds across its locations, each unit ranging from 50 to 100 beds.

In 2021, Medway Hospitals inaugurated a cutting-edge Heart Institute in Chennai, marking the sole standalone heart institute in South India to achieve both JCI and NABH accreditation. The Medway Heart Institute has achieved significant milestones, conducting over 1000 heart surgeries and 3000 Cath Lab Procedures in just two years.

Embarking on an organ transplant program in 2021, Medway Hospitals has completed over 150 renal transplants to date.

This investment will help us accelerate our expansion plans and reach 1000 beds by 2026. Our hospitals have proficiency in managing and treating a wide spectrum of complex medical conditions.”

Dr Palaniappan added, “Less than a month ago, we launched our Institute for Pulmonology & Pulmonary Rehabilitation to cater to the increased respiratory illnesses in children and the elderly.”
