Resource persons with students during stress management week in Kohima on May 22.
Kohima, May 22 (MExN): The Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health & School Counselling (CRIMHSC) Kohima in collaboration with the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, National Mental Health Programme, is currently observing stress management week in Kohima from May 22.
Marking the commencement of the weeklong programme, to be continued till May 27, the first programme was held today at Mount Hermon Higher Secondary School, Kohima with Anupam Kohli and Kezhazolie Mere, chairman of the Institute as resource persons.
Mere talked to students about managing stress where there are three areas that include mind, body and action.
He also mentioned about a few exercises that one can implement including breathing exercises, cognitive reframing, talk to a friend, talk to therapist etc.
Kohli spoke to the teachers that at every stage in life, there is some amount of stress that one experiences.
Both the resource persons also mentioned about two types of stress one is eustress which is a positive stress and distress is the stress that goes unmanaged and uncontrolled which results in different problems.
