I have had a lot of anxiety and insomnia since last Jan. 2021. I was given 0.5 mg clonazepam. I took it every night for six months until I cut it to 0.25 mg where I am now (2/13/22). I tried going back on an antidepressant (was on 50 mg Zoloft for many years) but I didn't see the benefit and mirtazapine which helped with sleep totally constipated me. My question is how slowly should I taper the 0.25 mg clonazepam to zero? I don't want to get addicted to it. How is one month at 0.25 mg and then cut it to 0.25 for 6 weeks and then zero?

I am on 300 mg of gabapentin for essential tremor. I read it helps with withdrawal from benzodiazepems. I take one an hour before bedtime along with 0.25 mg clonazepam. Helps me sleep. Also take melatonin (3 mg Snooze In and 1 mg melatonin) and 135 mg magnesium. I also take the gabapentin in the morning for anxiety. Any advice? Does this all make sense re insomnia and anxiety?

Thank you for your help.
