AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) -The second annual Health and Wellness Expo was held this Sunday at the Senator Inn and Spa.

The goal of this event is to promote physical, mental, emotional & spiritual wellbeing through the “8-Laws of Health.”

It highlighted nutrition, exercise, water, sunshine, temperance, air, rest, and trust, which spells out the acronym NEW START.

“It’s exciting to see people come through the door. We have people coming in that learn new things that they haven’t learned before, seeing information that they haven’t heard before, and how they can apply some of these health principles to their lives. So, it’s really exciting to see people have an opportunity to make a positive change in their life.” said Kimberly Brown, health expo director.

Each participant was given a “health record” they could add to at different stations by measuring their breathing, heart rate, or height.

Brown also stated, “We also have a children’s expo. It’s going on at the same time, that’s at the back of the room here. And so, we have a station specifically set up for kids. It’s a great event for families to come out as well because children can come, and they can learn some health tips as well.”

If you missed this year’s expo, they are looking forward to hosting another one next year.
