Giving more information about this, Forest Field Officer of Forest Research Center located in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Madan Singh Bisht said that the botanical name of Dambooti is Sinnim. It is a herb used throughout India for asthma, cough and respiratory diseases. It is considered a very good medicine for asthma. The alkaloids present in it strengthen the immune system, due to which it is also used in those diseases where there is a need to correct the body’s immune system. Dambooti is mainly useful in respiratory diseases like bronchitis, asthma, rhinitis, hay fever, respiratory allergies and cough. It can be used as a home remedy for many diseases including asthma.
Eliminates the problem of mucus from its roots
Madan Singh Bisht further said that the use of Dambooti is beneficial in those respiratory diseases in which phlegm comes along with cough. It removes excess phlegm due to its expectorant properties, so if you have problem of phlegm, difficulty in breathing, fever due to phlegm, then definitely try using it. It is anti-bacterial, loosens phlegm and removes lung infection.
Excessive use may cause harm
Madan Singh Bisht said that you can clean its leaves and chew them and eat them like medicine. Adults should take one leaf daily and children can be given a quarter leaf. Consuming it in large quantities and for long periods of time is harmful. If fresh leaves of Dambooti are not available, then when you get the leaves, dry them and make powder from them. Consume this powder in the amount of 250 mg to half a gram with honey. You can take this plant from the Forest Research Center located at Rampur Road, Haldwani.
