ROME — The Rome YMCA will partner with Jervis Public Library to host a series of free, outdoor fitness classes over the course of three weeks, starting on Tuesday, July 18.
The classes will be held at the library at 613 N. Washington St. They are free and open to teens and adults.
“This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and practice healthy self-care,” said Aaron Calandra, Rome Y Wellness Team Leader.
• Tuesdays, July 18 and 25: 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Bootcamp with Tina. This will be a rugged workout consisting of drills, circuits and interval training to increase stamina and strength.
• Wednesdays, July 19 and 26, and Aug. 2: 4:30 to 5 p.m. Zumba with Aaron. A total body conditioning class combining all elements of fitness, set to Latin and international-inspired music. This will work on cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.
• Fridays July 21 and 28, and Aug. 4: 9 to 9:45 a.m. Hatha Yoga with Amy. This class offers a non-impact guided experience that focuses on flexibility, strength and relaxation techniques.
