EDMONDS, Wash. — U.S. Coast Guard crews are searching for one kayaker is missing near Edmonds on Sunday.
The man in his 50s is believed to have gone kayaking late in the morning.
Rescue crews searched the waters southwest of Edmonds using response boats, cutters and helicopters.
According to the Coast Guard, after the Port Angeles Air Station crew reached the time limit, a crew from Astoria, Oregon responded. Sailors on the 87-foot patrol boat searched for the man.
Although conditions were dry Sunday, temperatures remained cold, reaching 49 degrees at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, according to the National Weather Service. The overnight low reached 33 degrees, which is the coldest overnight temperature so far this month.
