Friday, June 16’s episode of The Young and the Restless was hard to watch. Sally Spectra had been hospitalized due to high blood pressure which was presenting with symptoms of a headache, double vision, and trouble breathing. By her side was Adam, the father of her child, who was attempting to keep her as calm as possible despite the circumstances.
Elena warned them both that they needed to get Sally’s blood pressure down or they may have to induce labor because she was veering toward a life-threatening medical emergency if they didn’t. Sally was given medication, and she and Adam spent their time talking about how they wanted to celebrate the holidays with their baby.
Unfortunately, the medication didn’t work and Sally fell unconscious. This left Adam to make a decision concerning who he’d save if the procedure the doctor’s needed to perform threw Sally and the baby’s lives into the balance. His decision will have major consequences moving forward.
Is Sally leaving Young and the Restless?
Given the choice, Adam decided that the doctors should save Sally if they have to choose. While they were able to stabilize her, they couldn’t save the child. Come the Week of June 19 on the soap, Adam will have to break the heart-wrenching news to Sally. What happened has fans wondering if the character will make an exit.
If you’re a fan of Courtney Hope’s work on The Young and the Restless, don’t worry. There’s been no indication that the actress is planning to make a departure from the daytime program. Given what her character has gone through, she’s likely to be entering a major storyline involving Sally’s grief over the loss of her daughter especially since the choice was not made by her, and Nick wasn’t present at the hospital when she needed him because he was saving his daughter, Faith.
We’ll keep you posted if Hope does make an exit. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more Soap Opera news and coverage. New episodes of The Young and the Restless stream on Paramount+.
