COWRA duo Paul and Pam Braddon head to the Goulburn Fireball on Friday with half relations intent their prolific winning breed can win the race for the second straight year.
The race was won last year by Goulburn specialist Apollo Speed for David and Lisa Worthy and on Friday that dog's litter sister Clare A Chance (32 wins, $66,000) and her younger half-brother Darius Express, a son of Pindari Express and Hope's A Chance, which has won nine races and $19,000, step out in the $25,000-to-the-winner feature.
“Darius Express is our best hope drawn in the eight because Clare A Chance is best off an inside draw,” said Paul Braddon.

“He's a very smart dog who was very impressive in winning in fast times at Dubbo as a pup, but then he got a virus.
“That put him off the scene for three months and he is on the comeback now.”

Clare A Chance is by Aston Dee Bee and from a litter of eight that has won a remarkable 122 races and earned $275,000 in prizemoney.
The Braddons will eventually breed with Clare A Chance to continue a bloodline they have had since getting Special Moment (Kid Springdale-Multi's Babe) “from a woman in Wollongong who was getting rid of her line and gave us a bitch” reflected Paul.
Special Moment, a 1979 whelp, is the sixth dam of Darius Express and Clare A Chance.
“We've had a lot of success with the line over many years,” said Paul. “We have had more than 20 track record breakers in our training careers and most have come from this line.
“There is not a lot of 500 yard strength in them, but they have great pace and all chase very hard.”

Clare A Chance and Darius Express both won their heats but Paul Braddon says the Anthony Azzopardi-trained Packham Silk is the hardest to beat.
“She's very quick early,” said Paul.
Packham Silk (Aston Dee Bee-Nangar Silk) ran 19.58 to win her heat last week and is the winner of 10 of her 15 race starts.
She broke the Goulburn 350m first split record en route to her Goulburn Fireball heat win.
