Fainting also known in medical terms as Syncope is a feeling or a situation when an individual becomes unconscious and goes limp but recovers soon after, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
They further emphasized that fainting is infrequent for most people and often not a serious concern. However, in some cases, it can signal a risk of sudden cardiac death or lead to injuries. If fainting episodes occur often, consulting a physician has been advised.
A recent study used mouse experiments to reveal the reasons behind fainting. The research showed that connections between the brain and heart lead to rapid loss of consciousness, followed by a quick recovery.
