A recent trip to Punta Cana left Doug Davidson with more than fond memories. It also left him with a positive test result. “It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt,” Instagrammed the Emmy winner, whose Young & Restless exit has been so well-documented. (Here’s why he’s not on.)

In a separate post, Paul’s former portrayer shared, “As some of you are aware, I came back from the Dominican Republic with Covid. After three days, I had significant trouble breathing, and I’d like to give a shout-out to these fine agencies who were exceptional on every level.

“First: The 911 operator,” he continued. “She was absolutely fantastic. Second: The Summerland/Carpinteria fire district and third: Cottage Hospital Emergency Department! Hats off to all of them. They were incredible in every regard. Thank you so much!”

In response, the actor’s Genoa City family rallied around him. “Keep feeling better,” said Lauralee Bell, who plays Paul’s ex, Christine. “Ugh,” sighed Beth Maitland (Traci). “Feel better.”

Young & Restless alum Don Diamont (ex-Brad; now Bill, Bold & Beautiful) seconded that emotion. Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) expressed her hope that her onetime on-screen spouse was improving. “Sorry you had such a hard time,” she added. At least we’re pretty sure Davidson had a blast at the concert headlined by pal Rick Springfield (ex-Noah, General Hospital).
