Can Metronidazole Gel And Pill Use Together
Individually, the efficacy of 0.75% metronidazole vaginal gel twice daily for five days in treating bacterial vaginosis (BV) was similar to that of standard oral metronidazole treatment and was associated with fewer gastrointestinal complaints. There is no research on combining both standard metronidazole treatments for the same infection.
Since both of them individually are effective, there is no need for a combination. Combining metronidazole vagina gel and pills together in standard treatment will result in overdose of metronidazole. This will increase the side effects and adverse effects.
