Fire crews attended a house fire in Rossendale yesterday.

At around 6.35pm yesterday (June 6), two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Ramsbottom were called following reports of an incident on Gordon Street, Rossendale.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire on the first floor of a house and spent around three hours tackling the blaze.

Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels, a gas monitor and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the blaze.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “At 6.35pm on June 6, two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Ramsbottom were called to reports of an incident on Gordon Street, Rawtenstall, Rossendale.

“On arrival fire crews discovered a fire involving the first floor of a domestic property, and used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a gas monitor and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately three hours.”
