The Oregon Health Authority on Tuesday announced 267 new coronavirus cases and 22 deaths.
Where the new cases are by county: Benton (3), Clackamas (28), Coos (3), Crook (2), Curry (5), Deschutes (15), Douglas (13), Harney (1), Jackson (18), Jefferson (2), Josephine (13), Klamath (7), Lake (2), Lane (12), Lincoln (3), Linn (5), Marion (34), Multnomah (50), Polk (4), Tillamook (3), Umatilla (18), Union (3), Wasco (1), Washington (20) and Yamhill (2).
Who died: The state had not yet released information about the 22 fatalities reported Tuesday.
The prevalence of infections: On Tuesday, the state reported 486 new positive tests out of 18,600 tests performed, equaling a 2.6% positivity rate.
Who got infected: New confirmed or presumed infections grew among the following age groups: 0-9 (7); 10-19 (31); 20-29 (51); 30-39 (47); 40-49 (37); 50-59 (45); 60-69 (25); 70-79 (12); 80 and older (7).
Who’s in the hospital: The state reported that 119 people were hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is one more than Monday’s figure. There were 25 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, two more than were in similar care Monday.
Vaccines administered: The state said it couldn’t provide updated vaccination figures outlining how many first and second doses were administered statewide Tuesday because of a server outage. The next few days could be skewed due to the outage, the state warned. There have been 1,731,755 doses delivered to the state as of Tuesday. According to Monday’s figures, 1,346,090 doses had been administered.
Since it began: Oregon has reported 160,050 confirmed or presumed infections and 2,346 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the nation. To date, the state has reported 3,989,307 lab reports from tests.
