One direct benefit of America’s healthcare industry is we are living longer. But for diseases like COPD that can only be managed, living longer can be like a sentence.  That’s why older Americans in general need all the help they can get. A series of classes teaching healthful breathing techniques begins Monday, Nov. 6, at Nell’s Woodland in Ottawa. Breathing for Life is offered at 5 p.m. on Mondays in November through IVCC’s Continuing Education Center. You will learn helpful and healthful breathing techniques. Participants should wear comfortable, loose clothing and athletic shoes and bring a blanket and pillow. Register by calling the Continuing Education Center 224-0427 or online at ivcc dot edu. The fee is $39. The Nell’s Woodland Wellness Building is located at 2000 Alexis Ave.
