Fever, which has always remained a classic symptom of COVID, is a notch higher in case of this new variant. Higher grades of fever are being seen in patients who are infected this time.

Pink eye or conjunctivitis is another COVID sign that is being seen commonly these days. Experts say this is particularly seen in children.

“For the last 2 days, have started getting pediatric Covid cases once again after a gap of 6 mo! An infantile phenotype seems emerging—treated infants w/ high fever, cold & cough, & non-purulent, itchy conjunctivitis w/ sticky eyes, not seen in earlier waves," Pediatrician Dr Vipin M. Vashishtha had tweeted. Watery eyes, redness, swelling, irritation, itching and discharge are the typical signs of conjunctivitis.
