From early in the morning, the former swimmer from Can Tho has traveled dozens of kilometers by motorbike from Thu Duc City to Tan Tuc High School (Binh Chanh District). Arriving, meeting dozens of children already standing in the pool area and busy preparing swimwear, Anh Vien’s face clearly showed excitement. Because, “Little Mermaid” has been looking forward to the day to participate in such a meaningful activity for a long time, as she shared with Youth.

After the opening of the free swimming class, Anh Vien quickly put on the familiar swimsuit of a professional athlete and started to specialize, and was a pioneer in the water.

During the practice, the children laughed and giggled, but when the former star of the Vietnamese swimming village spoke up, everything became orderly. Young people who just started 2nd and 3rd grade focus on listening to every instruction of “teacher” Anh Vien. Standing in the water, Anh Vien shouted: “Inhale through your mouth, hold back a bit, and exhale through your nose 5 times like I do!”, the children replied in unison: “Yes”. Many children very bravely swing into the water and cling to the lake. But there are also some children who are still quite shy, and immediately are kindly asked by Anh Vien, instructing in detail every small move. Many boys and girls gradually forgot their initial fear to practice lying on their backs, breathing water… in the loving arms of Ms. Anh Vien.

Anh Vien shared: “In the past, I was busy training and competing, so I had little time for social activities. Now, I want to spread the love of swimming to everyone. I think this is the the occasion that I can get closer to many people Because when many people know how to swim, our country can reduce drowning, especially for children. Besides, we can also find out the causes new talent for swimming in Vietnam”.

Among nearly 100 children learning to swim under the dedicated guidance of Anh Vien on May 28, Nguyen Nhu Y (9 years old, Tan Tuc Primary School) made the strongest impression. The girl swam quite proficiently with a distance of more than 20 meters. Nhu Y has memorized the short and interesting lessons that “teacher” Anh Vien taught in short videos on social networks like TikTok, YouTube. “I know Ms. Anh Vien from the internet, when my parents introduced me to watch to learn to swim. I like watching Ms. Vien because she speaks easy to understand. I find Ms. Vien still beautiful in real life. Meeting her makes me very happy. . I think swimming is good for health, helping me not to sink or drown. My dream is to become a swimmer in the future”, Nhu Y shared.

Tran Binh An (9 years old, Tan Tuc Primary School) expressed: “I really like swimming and want to learn to swim so that I can swim when going to the beach, so I don’t drown. I know Ms. Anh Vien because she used to study in a textbook. She is a very good swimmer in Vietnamese class 3. I also see her teaching swimming on TikTok. Now I can learn to swim with Ms. Anh Vien, I feel very happy. She swims so fast, she’s already there. I see you as a mermaid.”

Dozens of parents also followed their children to the swimming pool of Tan Tuc High School. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai (living in TT.Tan Tuc, H.Binh Chanh) said: “This swimming teaching activity is very useful. Besides, there is also Ms. Anh Vien to guide it. will absorb well to quickly learn to swim and ensure their own safety.” Mai’s husband, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Loi shared: “My first impression was that Anh Vien was a very enthusiastic guide, instructing each child. Her swimming technique is very skillful. Her example and dedication. will help the children have more motivation in the next swimming lessons.”

As for Mr. Nguyen Quang Phuong (42 years old, living in H.Binh Chanh), sending his daughter to swim lessons is a must, even though the family’s economic conditions are not very well off. “Through the media, I see many cases of children drowning very pitifully, so they have to send their children to swim lessons. My hometown is in the West, there are many rivers, I want my children to know how to swim to protect themselves on occasions. family go out or go home,” he said.
