Jack Lambert, a consultant in infectious diseases, has called for the immediate halt of the present HSE plan to treat thousands of long Covid patients as he says the model is 18 months behind the science on the debilitating condition.

Lambert, who has been at the forefront of research into long Covid in Ireland, said he was blindsided by the HSE’s interim plan on long Covid, which is currently being implemented, and its decision this year not to fund his long Covid clinic in the Mater hospital in Dublin, which has been treating patients since March 2020.
