The Lewes Public Library and Child Inspired will host a self-care series called O2 4U - Put On Your Oxygen Mask: Self Care for Caregivers of Children, at 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5, at the library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.

Childcare will be provided. Just like airlines remind people to put on their own oxygen masks before assisting others, O2 4U helps parents learn simple ways to care for their own physical and mental health while caring for children. The series teaches approachable, bite-sized wellness techniques that can easily be woven into the day, such as breathing, guided imagery, yoga and more.

“A spa treatment or getaway can be a fabulous self-care break, but these things are expensive and don’t sustain us through the daily demands and stressors that impact our overall well-being,” said Christina Connors, Child Inspired director of clinical services. “Caregivers need self-care practices that can be easily integrated into their daily routines. O2 4U will provide an opportunity for caregivers to learn, participate in and practice simple yet effective calming, coping and connection strategies in a supportive, inclusive environment.”

The program is free and open to all parents and caregivers of children. To register, go to lewes.lib.de.us or call 302-645-2733. Walk-ins are also welcome.
