Dehradun: A five-day international training programme, titled “Assessing Land Degradation Dynamics and Restoration Efforts with Remote Sensing Data and GIS Tools”, started in Dehradun on Monday. It is a collaborative effort by the Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Land Management of Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun, and the United Nations.DG (ICFRE) Kanchan Devi said, “This training will help participants gain holistic understanding of RS-GIS applications in land resources assessment.” Shivani Azad

Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the completion of land acquisition for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai high-speed rail corridor. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) stated that all civil contracts for the project in Gujarat and Maharashtra have been awarded, with significant progress made in bridge construction and tunnel excavation. Work on HSR stations at various locations is also underway.
