In California, 282 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Monday, May 31, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,761,559.
There were four new deaths reported statewide Monday for a total of 62,928 people who have died from COVID-19.
The state reported four more hospitalizations from the previous day, increasing the total hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,332.
According to the California Department of Public Health, 36.9 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 42.6% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
