Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane and Ryan Carpenter along with defenseman Erik Gustafsson have been placed in COVID-19 protocol, the team announced. There has been no word if the three have confirmed positives, but they will not practice on Saturday.

Chicago is set to play the Red Wings on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The Blackhawks are off to an 0-4-1 start and sit at the bottom of the Central Division.

Kane, a three-time Stanley Cup winner and nine-time All-Star, leads the team with five points (one goal, four assists). He's averaging 20:30 minutes of ice time.

Carpenter has appeared in two games so far this season, while Gustafsson has appeared in four and notched one assist.
