Minnesota and Wisconsin health officials reported Monday that 56 more people in the Northland have tested positive for COVID-19.

The 10-county region logged no new deaths from the illness.

New cases and seven-day averages in Northland counties:

  • Aitkin — 3; 2.1.

  • Carlton — 4; 5.7.

  • Cook — 2; 0.9.

  • Itasca — 18; 22.1.

  • Koochiching — 0; 1.3.

  • Lake — 0; 0.7.

  • St. Louis — 24; 31.7.

  • Ashland — 0; 3.

  • Bayfield — 0; 2.1.

  • Douglas — 5; 5.9.

Statewide, Minnesota reported 1,191 new cases and Wisconsin reported 205 new cases. There were no deaths reported in either state Monday.

Most of the vaccination gains on Monday involved people receiving their second dose. In the Northland, 216 people received their first dose while 455 received their second dose.
