IMPHAL, Dec 1 : YC Uripok cruised to the second easy win the 24th State Basketball Championship Group B competition beating WAL Club 79-47 here at Brahmapur Nahabam Court today.
Peter Naorem led YC, Uripok in securing the emphatic 79-47 win over WAL Club today as he made the most score with 26 points in his name. RK Bishwanath also made a valuable contribution of 18 points followed by Ksh Tinku who added 17 points to ensure YC post a comfortable win against WAL.
For WAL, Doren scored the highest 15 points. Munish (7), Jonish (6), Malshwm (8), Lucky (4), Lenin (2), Stalwart (3) and Kangba (2) too found their names on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, CYLC bounced back from previous defeat to post a 68-38 win over Elite Club in Group C competition.
Robertson shone in this match scoring 23 points while his compatriot Lamyanba added 12 points. Benish (8), Yaiphaba (6), Walter K (7), Lenin A (6) and Vishal H (6) also contributed to CYLC's tally.
Meanwhile, Gideon Hangsing (11), Joseph (6), Thaingang Kamei (2), Kelvin Lunkim (9), Rangam (6), Nintingaipou (2) and Khai Chan Sang (2) scored for Elite Club
Latter, Home Coming Club secured their second win in the tournament (Group A) beating St Anthony 67-48 as Stalin Thangmei topscored with 23 points and Lalropuia contributed another 20 points.
TC Tohny Hmar also added 10 points to the Home Coming Club's tally as Masunghor, Samuel Lalmung and Robert added 6,6 and 2 points respectively.
For St Anthony, which had to end their campaign winless, John and Job were able to score double digit scores with 14 and 13 points in their names. Christopher (7), Simon (9), Lazarus (4) and Rabi (1) also scored for the team.
In the three-team women's competition, ESU top BSC 39-21 for the first win.
Revela Leivon took the centre stage in this match as she scored an impressive 16 points for ESU while her compatriot Omega Ksh scored 6 points. H Samjota was able to score 3 points for the same team as Sanatombi and Luxmi Aribam managed 2 points each.
Meanwhile for the losing team, Deepa scored the highest 7 points as Enakhunbi and Irish added 4 points each. Devika, Rita and Phelika also contributed 2 points each for BSC in a losing cause.
With the win, ESU finish runners up and will be meeting league winners St Anthony in the title clash on December 5.
