This is the absolute most important feature to look for when shopping for an air purifier and humidifier combo! I recommend looking for HEPA filters, which are the best of the best thanks to their ability to filter out at least 99+ percent of particles in the air. Dr. Parikh agrees: "A HEPA air purifier filters allergen, viruses, and other particles out of the air and makes it cleaner to breathe."
Oh, and as I mentioned earlier, two HEPA filters are always better than one.
Settings
You're going to want to think about your priorities, first and foremost, when shopping. Do you like to have a lot of fan speeds? Do you like ample humidity? Would you enjoy a cooling feature? Think through your preferences and lifestyle and do your research before committing to one air purifier and humidifier combo.
Square Footage
Some air purifier and humidifier hybrids are more powerful than others. That's why it's important to think about what room you're going to be placing the machine in, and the square footage it takes up. Most models will tell you how large of a space it can properly work within, so do your research and shop accordingly.
