Pursed lip breathing is similar to diaphragmatic breathing with a slight deviation when it comes to exhalation. We take in a deep and slow breath in through the nose. Remember not to involve the shoulders as we breathe. Once the abdomen is filled with air, we gradually release the air through pursed lips. This release is slow and controlled.
