Pope Francis’ recovery from his surgery continued on Sunday, with the Pontiff joining members of staff who have been assisting him for lunch after having recited the Angelus prayer in private at the Gemelli hospital in Rome.
The Holy See Press Office announced that “the medical staff has informed us that the post-operative recovery of Pope Francis is normal.
The Holy Father continues to be apyretic and haemodynamically stable (no fever, stable heart rate and pressure); he underwent respiratory physiotherapy and continued to move about.
In the course of the morning Pope Francis attended Holy Mass live on television and received the Eucharist. He then went to the chapel in his private appartment, where he gathered in prayer for the recitation of the Angelus.
The Pontiff then had lunch with those who are assisting him during these days of his stay in the private apartment (doctors, medical assistant, nurses, staff and Gendarmerie Corps personnel).”
