Pune Municipal Corporation issued transfer orders of over 132 junior engineers yesterday. The orders came in after various concerns were raised of political pressure making financial allegations.
The orders were issued by the general administration department and transferred those holding posts for more than 6 years. These engineers are transferred in various departments of PMC, 18 in the electrical dept, 109 in architectural dept and 5 in the mechanical dept.
The transfers came in after a senior political leader, Arvind Shinde, Congress leader from Pune wrote a letter to the municipal commissioner and raised the issue of transfers. In his letter he had mentioned that engineers have been at the same position for more than three years and as per the general body of PMC employees, they must be transferred after every three years. Hence, Sachin Ithape issued transfer orders.
