Education
College of the Ozarks added 10 professors for the 2022-23 academic year: Jim Anderson, Laura Ashley, Ashley Exendine, Tom Foley, Scott Hall, Amanda Holder, Rebecca McGarry, Aleshia O’Neal, Laura Paul and Jamie Rouch. Anderson has worked in higher education for 12 years and served four years as a dean at Southwest University. Ashley previously worked as an instructor of studio art at the University of Mississippi and served as the executive director of the Gumtree Museum of Art in Tupelo, Mississippi. Exendine previously worked as a conservation educator on a wildlife refuge in South Texas and served as an adjunct professor for two community colleges in Georgia. Foley previously worked in the information technology department at Ozarks Technical Community College. Hall previously taught adjunct classes for Spurgeon College at Midwestern Baptist University and also at Hannibal-LaGrange University. Holder, a C of O alumna, previously taught at Crowder College for one year. McGarry has worked for Awaken 360 as a clinical social worker while adjunct teaching for OTC’s human behavioral program. O’Neal has experience in English education, with a background in junior high and high school. Paul has served as a nurse at Cox Medical Center in Branson, while also working at C of O as an adjunct nursing instructor since 2018. Rouch previously served as director of finance for the city of Branson for 14 years and as an accountant for Baptist Bible College.

Health Care
The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation renewed its certification of Citizen Memorial Hospital’s pulmonary rehab program through 2025. The peer-review certified programs offer advanced practices and have proven track records of high-quality patient care.

CMH received over $1.84 million in grant funding to establish a mobile integrated health care program. Part of the funds will pay for the recruitment and training of emergency medical technicians, as well as specialized paramedic training to become certified community paramedics. The bulk of the grant money, $1.5 million, is from the Health Resources and Services Administration, while the remainder comes from the HRSA’s Rural Health Network Development Planning Program and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Tourism
Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau Inc. hired Ashley Clair as a partner development manager, responsible for advertising sales in the CVB’s printed materials, website and displays in the Route 66 Springfield Tourist Information Center. She also leads the partner development team and brings experience working as communications director for Leadership Springfield, community development manager for American Cancer Society and advertising account executive for Springfield Business Journal. Clair holds a bachelor’s in marketing from Missouri State University.
