A MISSING woman was rescued from the Forth and Clyde Canal next in the centre of Clydebank on Thursday evening.

The woman, aged around 60, had been reported missing and was seen on CCTV around 5.40pm on March 25, standing next to the canal at Clyde Shopping Centre.

She was then seen to jump into the water.

Police raced to the scene and pulled the woman, reported to be from Knightswood, from the water with a rope.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Video footage showing the woman in the water was shared on social media last night and had been seen by police, who confirmed details of the rescue.
