AZAYLIA Cain's mum Safiyya has said that her "anxiety is hard to control" and she's struggling to get out of bed after her baby's death.

She opened up one week after she and boyfriend Ashley Cain laid their little girl to rest after she tragically passed away in April at eight months old.

Taking to her Instagram Story today, Safiyya admitted that she was trying to channel her brave fighter as she struggled with day to day tasks.

The heartbroken mum told followers: "Today's task is to go and do a body pump class, and it was a massive scrape for me to get out of bed - I did not want to face the world again this morning.

"So guess what? That's my task."

Showing a beautiful piece of artwork of Azaylia, Safiyya went on: "That's my motivation. And these drawings and portraits that keep coming through to us… The time and effort you guys are all spending is incredible.

"Because this little one is my motivation every day, and to look at her before I get up and go out, and give her a kiss, is really special."

She added in the caption: "My anxiety is so hard to take control of but Azaylia is my hero and I'm going to be brave and challenge myself."

A little later, Safiyya shared her pride after "meeting today's challenge" - doing the class as well as going for a swim.

She went on: "It doesn't matter now that I want to go home. I just want to sit in my thoughts for a little while, and go and see Azaylia."

Yesterday, Safiyya and Ashley were touched when they were joined by family to help make Azaylia's resting place as beautiful as possible.

They got to work with shovels and cleared deflated balloons and old flowers that had been left by well-wishers.

The devoted parents decorated the spot with orange ribbons, stuffed animals from her favourite film, and fresh flowers - as well as beautiful rainbows and a lantern.

The outing came after Ashley bravely shared his emotional eulogy to Azaylia, which he delivered at her funeral last week.

The star broke down in tears as he paid tribute, ending the speech by singing her favourite Disney song from The Jungle Book.

He and Safiyya were sure to give Azaylia the send-off she deserved, and were moved as locals lined the streets to pay their respects as the horse-drawn carriage carrying her coffin passed.

At the beginning of April, heartbroken Ashley and Safiyya revealed that doctors had told them they could no longer treat Azaylia's leukaemia, which she was diagnosed with at just eight weeks old.

The family had just raised over £1million for her to get specialist treatment in Singapore when they were delivered the heartbreaking news, with medics finding tumours throughout her body - including on her brain.

In the weeks that followed, Azaylia needed several blood transfusions as she started to cry blood, and suffer nosebleeds - with purple bruises also appearing on her body as her illness meant that her blood could not clot.

She stopped breathing several times and began to suffer seizures in her final days, with Safiyya and Ashley providing their daughter round-the-clock care alongside their close family members.

Azaylia passed away at home on 24 April, with Ashley and Safiyya both paying emotional tribute as they broke the news on social media the following day.
