As the title states, I have some questions about quitting. I was prescribed Venlafaxine XR 37.5mg last Monday and started taking it on Wednesday (I’ve only taken 3 doses so far, Wednesday - Thursday - Friday) and I am reading horrible things about withdrawals and side effects. My pupils have been engorged as if I’m on magic mushrooms and I’ve been increasingly jittery and irritable. I want to quit this ridiculous drug. My question is, since I’ve only taken 3 doses, can I stop taking it as of today without experiencing side effects/withdrawal symptoms? Or is it already too late and I’m going to be sick all weekend?
I realize this is Reddit, but my doctor won’t give me a straightforward answer and this is my exact reason for waiting so long to be put on antidepressants. Almost seems as if they only care about the amount of big pharma medications that they can push out and make a buck off of.
