At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Columbus State identified the guiding principles
of health and safety, compassion and flexibility, and clear communication. The well-being
of our students, faculty, and staff is of paramount importance. In March 2020, our
priorities required a shift to primarily remote operations. Now, with hopeful news
regarding vaccine availability, we plan to gradually and safely return to in-person
classes and student services. While campus operations may look different thanks to
our continued commitment to social distancing and masking guidelines, we look forward
to serving more students on campus starting this summer and into the autumn.

While Summer Semester 2021 will remain primarily remote, we are running a limited
number of in-person classes and phasing in some in-person student services by appointment.
We will share more details about Autumn 2021 as it draws closer. The pandemic remains
an ever-changing environment and the College will continue to follow guidelines set
by the CDC, Ohio Department of Health, and others.

Latest Updates:

  • Registration for Summer and Autumn semesters is open, reflecting our gradual increase
in in-person classes. Check the schedule to see how classes are offered within each semester.
  • We are gradually increasing in-person student services on an appointment-only basis starting this summer.
  • Students taking in-person classes must continue to fill out a health assessment prior to arrival, and everyone must follow established safety practices including wearing a mask while indoors on college property.
  • At this time, Columbus State does not require students or staff to receive the COVID-19
vaccine, but we do encourage you to get the shot.
