The Oregon Health Authority on Monday reported three COVID-19 deaths and 310 coronavirus cases, the lowest daily case tally since April 12.
While case counts are typically the smallest of the week on Mondays, the latest numbers pushed downward Oregon’s daily average to below 600 over the past week.
Identified cases in Oregon fell by 16% last week, marking the third straight week of declines.
Vaccines: Oregon reported 23,929 newly administered doses, which includes 16,088 Sunday and the remainder from previous days.
Where the new cases are by county: Baker (1), Benton (7), Clackamas (58), Clatsop (1), Columbia (1), Coos (9), Crook (2), Curry (1), Deschutes (39), Douglas (12), Harney (1), Jackson (6), Jefferson (2), Josephine (3), Lane (27), Lincoln (2), Linn (17), Marion (35), Morrow (2), Multnomah (68), Polk (6), Wasco (3), and Yamhill (7).
Who died: Oregon’s 2,588th death linked to COVID-19 is a 91-year-old Jackson County woman who tested positive May 5 and died May 14 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
The 2,589th fatality is a 71-year-old Deschutes County woman who tested positive May 7 and died May 13 at St. Charles Medical Center Bend.
Oregon’s 2,590th death is a 63-year-old Marion County man who tested positive April 20 and died May 16 at Salem Hospital.
Each person had underlying health conditions.
Hospitalizations: 342 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are hospitalized, up three from Sunday. That includes 81 people in intensive care, down one from Sunday.
Since it began: Oregon has reported 195,882 confirmed or presumed infections and 2,590 deaths, among the lowest per capita numbers in the nation. To date, the state has reported at least 3,562,779 vaccine doses administered, fully vaccinating 1,604,796 people and partially vaccinating 468,931 people.
